Guilford Technical Community College Holding Public Forums to Assist with Presidential Search

JAMESTOWN, N.C. – Guilford Technical Community College will hold five public forums April 10 and April 11 as part of its presidential search process. The sessions are open to the public and will be held at various times at the Jamestown, Greensboro and High Point campuses.

Input from the sessions will assist the Presidential Selection Committee and contracted search firm Association of Community Colleges Trustees (ACCT) in developing a presidential profile. Each session will include a wide-ranging discussion about the qualities, characteristics, and qualifications GTCC is seeking in its next president, and opportunities and challenges facing the college in the years to come. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the presidential search process.

Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are encouraged to attend and participate.

Public Forums Schedule:

Wednesday, April 10, 2019:

Noon – 1 p.m.            Jamestown Campus, Koury Auditorium

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.           Jamestown Campus, Koury Auditorium

3 p.m. – 4 p.m.           Greensboro Campus, Continuing Education Center, Room 152 A&B

 

Thursday, April 11, 2019

Noon – 1 p.m.            High Point Campus, H4, Room 203

4 p.m. – 5 p.m.           Jamestown Campus, Hassel Health Technologies, Room 101

In addition to the public forums, a short electronic survey has been developed to solicit feedback. Anonymous responses to the survey will also be used to inform the development of the draft Presidential Profile. Feedback to the survey must be submitted by noon Monday, April 15.

The Presidential Search Committee will review the confidential applications, interview semifinalist candidates and identify the final candidates to forward to the Board of Trustees for further consideration.

The Board of Trustees will interview the final candidates and select from among them. Each of the finalists will participate in open forums at GTCC, in which the campus and local community will be invited to attend and participate. GTCC anticipates the final candidates visiting the college late-July.
